How bad can Irisbus be? In Norway we have no experience with Irisbus other than Iveco Daily, so we really don't know how they will work. For example if they will be drivable in -20C on snow and ice. How would Jelcz and other lesser known polish brands work under those conditions? The only big-selling polish brand in Norway is Solaris. I think there are half a dozen midibuses from Autosan, and no other. Volvo and Scania built in Poland, on the other hand, are quite numerous here.
Oh, and I know that Irisbus is not polish, I just used Poland as comparison, since one of you mentioned Jelcz.
Does anybody know where these Irisbuses are built? Are the Crossway and Arway models based on earlier Karosa models, and are they still made there?
I said 'what a pity' because Irisbus buses are believed in Poland to represent rather low quality level. Jelcz is also known for this bartosz w do not like mike so he just wanted to be boorish. Crossways are built in Czech Republic, in factory in Vysokie Myto. These models were designed by Irisbus and have nothing in common with previous Karosa models.
Thanks for the information! We just have to wait and see if they will survive on Norwegian roads or not. I always try to be open-minded, but I know for sure that they will never beat Volvo and Scania.
I also try to be open minded when I come across new buses, but somethimes they do not let me - one example can be SOR NB12
In Poland everything is considered low-quality if it does not have the Mercedes-Benz badge on the front wall And those vehicles that bear a Polish make are considered especially low-quality I wonder if Belorussian, Ukrainian and Chinese buses will have better opinion in Poland than our own ones... PS: AFAIK Autosan sold in Norway only a few Solina minibuses.
Yup. From what I can see there is one H-6 from 1990, and one Solina H7 from 2007 in the lists I can find. But I guess there are a couple more Solinas sold as school buses in places where no busfans have found them yet. The people selling Autosan in Sweden are also selling them in Norway, so there may be more Solinas coming.
