| The prototypes 0001 and 0002 for Moscow were delivered in 1983 by ČKD (Českomoravská Kolben-Daněk) in Prague. They represented a new generation of standard tram cars. The type T6B5 had chopper (thyristor) equipment, and the later standard series for the Soviet Union was eventually called "T3M" (the modernised T3). The vehecles were maintained in the Krasnopresnenskoye depot in Moscow and were frequently in service on tram route 28. The vehicle 0002 (0302) was withdrawn from service in 2003 and used for storage purposes. No. 0001 was repainted in the original standard red in 2006 and used as a historic vehicle.
