| Andere Informationen | Hovedstadsområdets Trafikselskab (HT) was established on 1 October 1974 as a public administrative and operational unit for the public transport in the Greatern Copenhagen area. As from 1 October 1974 the HT took over the activities and the rolling stock of all former public or publicly owned bus operators in the Greatern Copenhagen area. These were: Københavns Sporveje Amagerbanen A/S Nordsjællands Elektricitets og Sporvejs Aktieselskab (NESA) Forenede Rutebiler Herlev Ruterne Lyngby-Nærum Jernbane (LNJ) Gribskovbanen (GDS) Helsingør-Hornbæk-Gilleleje Banen (HHGB) Helsingør Bussen Hillerød-Frederiksværk-Hundested Jernbane (HFHJ). Fredensborg-Humlebæk Kommunes Rutebiler Furthermore, the HT took over the bus operation of Danske Statsbaner (DSB) in the Greatern Copenhagen Area. A large number of private bus operators continued their services after 1974 according to contracts with the HT. Some of these operators subsequently decided to discontinue their service, and the fleets were purchased by the HT. These were E. Nystrup Hansen, Hornbæk (1975) Helsinge Ruterne, Helsinge (1975) De Gule Busser I/S, Glostrup (1980) Hjortekær Trafik, Lyngby (1982) H.C. Stephansens Rutebiler, Gentofte (1988) The geography of the HT network comprised Copenhagen (København) and the provincial cities Helsingør, Hillerød, Roskilde, Frederikssund and Køge, which all had urban bus route systems. Local bus systems also existed in several bigger suburbs of Copenhagen. Several of theses systems continued by private operators after 1974 including Ballerup (Gråhundbus), Taastrup (De Blaa Rutebiler), Holte (De Blå Omnibusser) and Glostrup (De Gule Busser). Several operators, which were merged into the HT in 1974 had been responsible for regional bus routes and inter urban bus routes. For there logistic reasons the rolling stock of the HT consisted of several and different models. Frequently, new rolling stock was purchased with various euipment according to specific wishes of the HT. This could imply variations in the passenger capacity among vehicles of the same basic model. The major part of the rolling stock, which was purchased by the HT after its establishment in 1974, was delivered by the domestic manufacturers DAB (Leyland chassises) and Aabenraa Karosserifabrik (Volvo chassises). | |||
