Do you know why they have placed 2 pantographs on most of their GTL8 and why they use the rear one on selected routes?
Following a discussion on the Yahoo Eurotrams group. The following was submitted by a Dutch member.
"Originally all had two pantographs with the front one in service and
the rear one as spare. After many years it was decided to change once
a year for using the front or the rear one. Now a project is ongoing
to give all trams a new pantograph. This will be mounted on the front.
The pantograph on the rear will disappear. On the moment the trams
should use the front pantograph, unless this one is broken. In that
case the back one has to be used."
