3 März 2010 - Linz, trasa Pöstlingbergbahn pomiędzy przystankami Spazgasse i Hagen.
16 Mai 2007 - Linz (AT) – depot/zajezdnia Kleinmunchen. This original Linz horse tram has been nicely restored. On the side, it says ‘125 years of horse tramways’ – I thought they had some electric trams now? What we call in English ‘poetic licence’……..
16 Mai 2007 - Linz (AT) – depot/zajezdnia Kleinmunchen. As you know, I always try to photograph works trams. The Linzer Linien general-purpose arbeitswagen is a powerful-looking machine of 1954. It doesn’t carry a fleet number, but is just known as tram ‘A’.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – depot/zajezdnia Kleinmunchen. Postlingberg cars XI, VIII and X stand in the workshop on special 900mm temporary bogies. They were just stored when I visited - now they are possibly scrapped. What a great shame!
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria, Postlingbergbahn. The lower terminus – city trams stop just outside. In a supreme act of official vandalism, all this has been swept away so that low-floor trams can run up the Postlingberg directly from Linz city centre. The line is currently closed and will reopen next year with new 900mm tracks and new trams. I think that just one or two of these old trams will remain for tourists, somehow modernised and re-gauged.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Postlingbergbahn. Leaving an intermediate passing loop, the trams hit the heavy gradient once again. Note the use of trolley poles.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Postlingbergbahn. Two two-car trains pass at one of the intermediate stops. The hooks on the front and rear of each tram are to carry prams and pushchairs. One odd feature of the Postlingbergbahn is the numbering system, using Roman numerals.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Postlingbergbahn. The Postlingbergbahn is a separate, metre-gauge line to the top of a hill. The maximum gradient is a crazy 12%, operated as a normal tramway without rack or cable – just special brakes to control the descent. Here, you can see the huge gradient as a tram approaches a road crossing.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Durerstrasse. Car 6 and matching trailer 109 were constructed in 1950 to quite an old looking design. They are just two of several nice trams in the Linz historic fleet.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Wiener-Bundestrasse. Car 001 was the first Cityrunner to enter service and wears this striking silver design to promote the tramway.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Kleinmunchen. Car 44 is a Rotax design, built before the Cityrunners arrived. The indicator screens are pretty useless – this actually says Line 1.
11 Mai 2007 - Linz, Austria – Kleinmunchen. A Cityrunner of the same design as those running in Lodz. Linz tramways do not often feature here, but this is quite an interesting system. The trams have been steadily modernised or replaced and a long tram subway was built beneath the railway station area. Notice the very narrow (900mm) gauge.
26 April 2002 - Linz, Hauptbahnhof. Tego już nie zobaczymy, tak się pod dworzec już nie podjeżdża. W ramach przebudowy dworca tramwaje schowano do tunelu.
26 April 2002 - Linz (Austria), Simonystr.
